This is the quote that stuck with me whilst reading and not just because my favourite character says this. The writing is off the charts with how good it is and the character growth for all our beloved characters is amazing. I have never connected with the characters in a book more than I have with Rogue and her boys. I just love them all so much, especially Chase.
Our favourite characters are really put through the wringer on more than one occasion and none more than Rogue. At the end of Carnival Hill Rogue was in Shawn's clutches once more and he really does a number on her. She tries really hard to block him out but he just has this knack of pinpointing their worst fears and insecurities. Weaving a web of lies, Shawn casts doubts against her boys, lodging himself deeply under her skin.
There is only one conclusion to come to after reading Paradise Lagoon and that is that Shawn Mackenzie needs to die!!! The most horrible and gruesome death these authors can think off!!!! *screams in anger and frustration* Honestly, just when you think there's nothing worse he can do he tops it like he's in some kind of competition and he's determined to win the prize. The only prize he will win though is the unbridled hatred of all who read this book.
Even poor Mutt has his own trials to overcome which makes everything worse. What sick person goes after a dog??? Unfortunately for Fox, Mutt is still holding a grudge. But despite the bad there is a lot of good to be found its just hidden. JJ, Rick and Rogue get some very unexpected surprises, one I figured out but two that completely blindsided me. Overall, an amazing listen and the narrators Jake and Bridget just made that astonishing heart-racing ending that much more emotional!

Fox, man snap out of it!!! I want to shake sense into him. but by the end of this book, I can't find it in myself to hate him. He is so...bless him.

oh the spice in this book increases another level. Mmmm a little MMF, yes indeed! and so many moments, so many smutty hot moments 😍

Another fantastic book by these brutal queens! Can’t wait to get to Gallows Bridge to see how it all ends!
