About this listen

For 12 years, the virtual world of Yggdrasil has served as the playground and battlefield for the skeletal lord Momonga and his guild of fellow monsters, Ainz Ooal Gown. But the guild's glory days are over, and the game is shutting down permanently. When Momonga logs in one last time just to be there when the servers go dark, something happens - and suddenly, fantasy is reality. A rogues' gallery of fanatically devoted NPCs is ready to obey his every order, but the world Momonga now inhabits is not the one he remembers. The game may be over, but the epic tale of Ainz Ooal Gown is only beginning....

Superb storytelling and production

I've always been a fan of the light novels and the anime, and now I must put this right up alongside the light novels, the storytelling was outstanding. I can't wait for volume 2.

Great story and acting

Great voice acting and story, would highly recommend if you like a different take on a fantasy story from the side of the Grotesques

amazing voice acting

the nuances and the emotion portrayed is just amazing. having seen the anime first helps the imagination a bit but the descriptions of the scenes and persons is fine on their own.

Light Novels are way to go!

Oh my goodness, if there was one thing I was missing from Audiobook's was a proper Light Novel adaptation. Overlord is an amazing piece of the story that came from Japan and I will recommend it to every single person who enjoyed watching Anime or reading Mangas. It is not your common Fantasy, it is something more.

Nearly a perfect performance

I truly love the story of Overlord and it's story is massively interesting to hear finally in an English Audiobook, the only problem I have with it is that Chris Guerrero has half the cast of male leading voices sound exactly like Ains.

If he could tweak that a tiny bit I'd think this a perfect performance.

a long wait but the narrator disappointed

the narrator needs to use different voices for other characters, it become impossible to tell which character is talking when there's a back and forth between Ainz and Gazef.

More than happy

This is one of the first Light Novel series i read and was surprised to see it had an audiobook releasing (along with Saga of Tanya).

I was even happier when i noticed the narrator was the dub VA. His beautiful baritone for Ainz always hits the right spot

Story is enjoyable and a good intro to the New World.

My only issue was when he voiced some of the other characters like the elf twins. Like with Tanya I enjoyed this audiobook and hope they can get more Dub VA’s to join the cast for mater volumes
