He was obsessed and she found herself intrigued by that fact because that meant that he was just as messed up as she was.

Monster. Murderer. Evil. He was all those things and more. Even so, Fate stepped in and put Madelyn in his path, and he felt like he was being given a second chance for both him and his wolf. Obsessed didn’t even come close to how he felt about her and he wanted to possess her in every way possible.

However, when his past came back to haunt him, and threatened Madelyn in the process, he could only hope that he was strong enough to pull them both out of the darkness.

A wonderfully dark, action packed wolf shifter romance with some fabulous spicy scenes. I couldn’t put this down once I'd started it & loved the chemistry between the main characters. There is action, an obsessive stalker, kidnapping, dark steamy romance, fated mates, banter, some great twists and HEA

Madelyn hasn’t had an easy life but things get messier when she finds she has a obsessed stalker who wasn't going to take "no" for an answer. Though she knows he's wrong for her, she can't help but feel safe with him.

Xavier is a top hitman (a rogue shifter living in secret among humans), though he's now left the Family behind. He's always felt that he's cold and emotionless, which made him great at his job, but from the moment he sees Madelyn in the bar he knows she's his fated mate and that she will accept him; even if he has to wait, though his wolf is not a patient monster, he'll change for her. When his past comes back to find him, Xavier knows he'll do anything to protect Madelyn.

A lovely dark slow burn romance which I could not put down and enjoyed listening to it just as much, with Kat Renee bringing the characters to life.

I listened to the sample and thought it would be more of a dark, obsessive love story. The male lead seemed totally love-crazed. But after buying it, the story wasn’t as dark as I expected. The female lead turns out to have bipolar disorder or maybe even a split personality — she’s in love one moment and pushing him away the next.

Personally, I think it leans more toward romance than dark romance.
