About this listen

The only thing for certain is the deaths were no accident.

Rayner High School, once a prestigious school, stands in ruins after such a terrible event.

A year later, a group of friends return to the abandoned school and their nightmare begins.

Something wants to get out and won’t take no for an answer…

With echoes of Final Destination, Ouija is a great old-school teen horror story with plenty to keep you on your toes. Though set in the modern era, this has a real 90s vibe (for me anyway) and is reminiscent of a good old fashioned slasher. If creepy old dolls and sinister demons float your boat, then this one’s for you. Very well narrated, too.

A slice of teen horror 👀

An absolutely superbly written book which was wonderfully read and had me hooked from the beginning right until the end.
The way that the narrator read the story made it very special ,all the voices made it a real fun and an enjoyable listen .
Really looking forward to the next one in the series and would definitely recommend this book 👍🏻

A really fantastic book ,brilliantly narrated 🙂

I enjoyed revisiting Ouija and, if anything, loved it even more the second time round. The Audible narration definitely helped with this as the atmosphere which kept me hooked as I was reading felt more tangible when I was listening thanks to the narrator's engaging reading style. I felt that all the emotions the author wanted me to feel were evident in the narration.

When I first read Ouija, I loved the characters and felt that Zoé-Lee O'Farrell had captured the characters of the teenagers in particular really well. Luke William Bromley does a fantastic job of bringing them to life and making their discussions animated. He also uses a slightly different accent for each character so it's easy to tell who is speaking the whole way through.

The ending of Ouija is very tense and the narrator is wonderful at conveying this to the audience. Once again, I was totally on edge as the story reached its conclusion!

I listened to the audio book version of this book and I was totally intrigued straight away by the title, cover and blurb!

The book was very fast paced and I felt like it dived straight into the action from the get go. I do want to say that I don’t know why they would continue after what they saw in the first classroom… I would have been out of there! (However, then there would have been no story to tell… lol). I feel like if this scene was removed then the book could have been a bit more believable. However, I still fully enjoyed how it all played out!

It was really dark and sinister and jam packed full of creepy and tense moments - I felt myself holding my breath along with some of the characters!

The characters were all really unique and a very likeable bunch of kids. I did feel quite sad about how some of their fates played out…

I absolutely love that Friends got a mention and the famous “PIVOT” scene - I mean who doesn’t love that episode of friends (and all other episodes).

The narrator done a fantastic job portraying the different characters and I really loved his Scottish accent for Ben. I also really enjoyed his more sinister voices… and his growls!

Overall, a really enjoyable audio book which kept me hooked and intrigued throughout. Also, what a cliff hanger ending! I would definitely read more from these characters.

I would recommend this one to people who love a good demonic storyline!

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Great Book

Listening to the audiobook of Ouija with my eyes closed was akin to having a teen horror flick playing in my mind. And although it is short, there is much crammed in as the friends play out their destiny.

Distinct personalities within the group of six teens really come across despite there being no obvious leader, and the play between the characters shines. As the story progresses and becomes increasingly horrific, the tension becomes palpable.

At times scary to this hardened horror fan, I was glad I was listening on a sunny afternoon. Ouija is a promising debut; I'd be interested to read more from Zoé-Lee O'Farrell.

A spooky, enchanting debut

This was an OK book, the narrator wasn't the best I've heard and could be a little monotone at times. The plot was pretty weak and generic but passable.

OK but not amazing
