About this listen

The stunning new thriller from the author who brought you the jaw-dropping twist of I Let You Go, the gasp-out-loud ending of Let Me Lie, and the loveable, unpredictable Ffion Morgan in The Last Party and A Game of Lies.
'Witty and ingeniously plotted with twist after brilliant twist. I loved it!' CLAIRE DOUGLAS

Even on the most desirable street, there's a dark side . . .

The Hill is the kind of place everyone wants to live: luxurious, exclusive and safe. But now someone is breaking and entering these Cheshire homes one by one, and DS Leo Brady suspects the burglar is looking for something, or someone, in particular.

Over the border in Wales, DC Ffion Morgan recovers the body of an estate agent from the lake. There's no love lost between Ffion and estate agents, but who hated this one enough to want her dead - and why?

As their cases collide, Ffion and Leo discover people will pay a high price to keep their secrets behind closed doors . . .

Another great book about police woman Ffion Morgan. The Welsh and Cheshire connection is interesting. Hurrah!

Excellent story

Three interlocking cases for Ffion and Leo which will keep you listening avidly if it wasn’t for the poor narration. Not satisfied with awful accents (which vary) the constant way in which the word BURGLARY is pronounced “burglery”. This spoils the enjoyment of an otherwise gripping novel.

More cases for Ffion and Leo

Clare’s books continue to impress me. As a retired police officer from the same Force as Clare use to work in, I am very pleased that she took up a literary career. Usually I steer clear of so called police novels because they make me annoyed with how they differ from reality, but Clare having the benefit of real police experience means that she portrays the policing side and the colleague relationships / their thoughts very accurately.
Whilst I do like the narrator especially from the previous books in this series, I have to agree with another reviewer who mentioned her inability to say the word ‘burglary’ properly. Unfortunately, since this involved an investigation into a burglary series, the word ‘burgalry’ came up an awful lot which was rather distracting and annoying!

Excellent storyline

Enjoyed the story and the characters development, although Ffion was more angry !
However, why oh why are the people from Cheshire portrayed as having Liverpool accents??? We don’t! Ari and Leo I can understand but not the rest. Come to Cheshire there’s a broad range of accents not scouse!

Good story

Great storyline, beautifully written. Set in the idyllic Welsh countryside crossing back and forth to Cheshire what a rollercoaster of a story! loved it!

Best Ffion Morgan book yet!

The scouse accent really ruined this for me but still enjoyed the story. Probably better to read than listen

Awful scouse accent

Loved all of it! Could not stop listening and once again there were some great twists and turns. Performances were all great and it really added to the story having the different podcast voices.

Great DCI Morgan read again!

I have really enjoyed the DC Morgan series and this is the best so far!
The characters are real and have their failings, which I like. A great storyline with twists that keep you guessing.

Great addition to the series
