About this listen

Jack Garrison lost his wife and their only child in a car accident...and thereafter lost his faith. In this dramatic novel, the 33-year-old skeptic experiences the mysterious wonder of being caught up in visions, dreams, and real-life experiences. Listeners journey with Jack throughout the Holy Land...and also globally, from his home in London to the furthest corners of the world.

We watch prophecy being fulfilled...and continuing to unfold...as only best-selling author, Bodie Thoene, and prophecy scholar, Ray Bentley, can paint the pictures and evoke the scenes.

I would buy the series but without book 2 there is little point. The story is good but it is let down by the narration. OK to listen too but hard to tell characters apart at times. Not read in an expressive manner and sounds just like someone is reading it to themselves if that makes sense. Worth a listen though. If book 2 becomes available I will listen to the rest.

Good story but book 2 not available on audible

I've read almost all of the Thoene's books and loved every single one if them! Because of arthritis I'm not able to hold a book for a long time, so now I LISTEN. I liked the story of On the Mountain of the Lord, but..... I'm afraid I really did not like the way it was narrated; I feel it "lacks pace" and is too monotonous, unprofessional even. I do not want to be disrespectful to the narrator, not at all, but I wish "the powers that be" would consider another narrator.

Monotonous tones

v good story, enlightening about Jews and Christians and our shared messiah. narrator good but slightly robotic and commercial, more differentiation needed between female and male characters. still a good listen

great story, narrator a bit robotic. enlightening

Read by the author and quite boring. It is quite biased tough and not what I expected.

I was captured by the facts of the story. It was easy to follow and place in history. Thoenes have written many historical fictions which illuminate historical facts in a way that’s easy to grasp.

I did not appreciate the narrator. I was sure it was AI for several chapters. He reads like a robot, is completely without feeling, and doesn’t even try to differentiate the characters. At times it was difficult to know which character was speaking. Such a great story needs a decent actor.

Amazing story

This was a great story with good characters but it was very hard work to follow because of extremely poor narration. The emphasis was put on all the wrong words or syllables and there was no attempt to differentiate between the voices of the different characters so you really had a wrestle to work out who was speaking. Which meant missing a lot of what was going on. I really wanted to give up listening because it was not a pleasant experience, but I wanted to know how the story ended so I persisted!

Good story, lousy narration!
