About this listen
A feel-good story of new beginnings set in an idyllic English country village by top 50 bestselling author Alison Sherlock.
Welcome back to Railway Lane.
When high flying, workaholic Katy Smith is suddenly made redundant, she needs to find a job fast!
After mistakenly answering an advert online, she quickly realises that the rundown railway station in sleepy Cranfield isn’t the 5-star London hotels she’s used to working in!
But a job’s a job. Right?
Chef Ryan Connelly is having a crisis of confidence after his Italian dream turns sour.
Returning home to try to pick up the pieces of his parents broken marriage, he soon discovers that his family home, the railway station, is close to financial ruin Can Katy use all of her skills and find a way to save the railway station?
And can Ryan rediscover his passion of cooking once more?
As winter in Cranfield begins to sprinkle its magic, perhaps Katy and Ryan can find their very own new beginning on Railway Lane.
A cosy, heartwarming story perfect for fans of Holly Martin and Cathy Bramley

Loved it from beginning to end!!
What a wonderful story …
Career girl from London, very successful but with no life outside work, suddenly ends up in the country, in a situation which is the exact opposite of what she was looking for.
Having made a commitment to a week’s work she decides to get on with it despite the undesirable circumstances. Then someone gets injured and the timescales change as she realises she can’t just leave as she’d agreed with them.
The closed down scruffy old railway station, full of old junk and no space to move is owned by an equally broken-down and deeply unhappy family. She has committed to use her incredible tidying skills on the station rooms.
But things start to change and she begins to reevaluate the life she has always thought she wanted.
It’s a really lovely storyline with interesting characters and a great variety of business opportunities. Not just your typical love story but one which has a seemingly never-ending number of different strands to it! It keeps it full of variety and marvelling at the terrific opportunities that she identifies and throws herself into.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book and found myself eking out the time because I didn’t want it to end! I’d have to stop it every hour or so and save it to enjoy with my dinner. I really recommend it and can’t wait to follow it up! Lucky you for still having it to enjoy 😁🥰😍❤️

Platform one
I don't think Alison Sherlock can write a bad book. Another great story is second in the series....hopefully we will get another instalment.
The narrator was good as well, always a bonus with audible books.

Love her books and yes I know they’re predictable but that’s what I like. Time out to chill from my busy life.
