As a huge animal lover and an admirer of vets i thoroughly enjoyed this book. Full of humour but also compassion.

I loved the accounts of the individual animals and their treatments. I had to give the book only four stars though because I’m not interested in the political matters which were described at great length. I also objected to the author’s atheism being brought into it. Take out the religion and politics and it’s a great book!

this is a great book, getting behind the scenes and learning about the difficulties, as well as the joys, of this profession had made me admire vets even more.
Bring a midwife myself, I am all too familiar if the difficulties faced by medical professionals, yet vets have the added pressure off finances and not having as much support staff.
