This was an entertaining quick read. Pretty much as soon as the book begins, we’re thrust right into the action. We meet our protagonist Amy and her 9-year-old daughter Lila. Amidst the chaos and fear of an apocalyptic virus, she has to fight to protect herself and Lila from zombie type creatures after the virus has gotten most of society.
Before necrosis, Amy did not have it easy, with substance abuse struggles, and not having the best past relationships. Post necrosis, she has a chance to be better and protect her daughter. They come across many obstacles on their way to safety. Can she shield her daughter from the violence and savagery, and keep them both alive another day?
This was overall an entertaining read. It was quick and there was a lot of action throughout. I enjoyed following Amy’s journey, and the supporting characters were also good in this.
Narrated by Jess Jacob, she was amazing at capturing the character of Amy, and all the emotions that she was feeling throughout her journey. She was able to bring the story and all the characters in this to life!

Amy and her daughter are stuck in the city with a virus that is quickly spreading, killing everyone in its path. The virus strips away a person's humanity that drives them to violence and a hunger that is only sated by human flesh. Can they escape with there lives? Or have they left it to late?
I liked the narrator. She did an amazing job making the drama, the fear and anguish come alive.
