About this listen

Times are hard for all on Mulberry Lane as the war rages into yet another year. Desperate times push people into dangerous situations, and the residents of Mulberry Lane are not exempt. Menacing shadows lurk on dark street corners, threatening the safety of those who are alone and vulnerable.

When Peggy's twins are born early, Maureen and Nellie are there to lend a helping hand. The mothers of Mulberry Lane stick together despite the grim conditions of war-torn London and a shadowy fear that stalks their lives. Neighbours and friends look out for each other, and new life brings hope and joy to the lane.

Another....

great book with some lovely characters in also the good antics they get up to. The narrator was very good at using different voices for the characters.

why oh why...

Do they change narrators imid series?? This story was flawed only by the narrator's dreadfully annoying incorrect inflections and mis- pronunciations. Eddie for a woman,, instead of Edie and halfpenny, instead of ha'penny etc. And why does the editor not correct them??? Irritating.

An enjoyable storyline

An enjoyable storyline of a close knit community in London and the trials they had to face, very well written.

15th October' 22 I loved it!

This book is a fantastic third book. But it's just not fair that
Mike and Janet found each other and then she lost him
again forever! Also little Tom
is a good little boy but the mother and wife didn't treat
him and husband well at all
so she is best where she is.

The third book of the serie

Again Rosie Clarke hasn't disappointed with Mulberry Lanes babies. These books are enchanting and gives you a picture how life was and how people pulled together. The narrator Laura Kirman has made the characters clear with no stupid voices like Polly Edsell did in book 7 (which I listened to first).
