More Favorite Stories of Christmas Past is a collection of seven classic holiday tales narrated by Henry Van Dyke, whose grandfatherly timbre sounds like old Kris Kringle himself, and Joyce Bean, a performer with expansive character range whose wide-eyed retelling perfectly captures the wonderment of the Christmas season.

Featuring long-loved stories like A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, and "The Little Match Girl", by Hans Christian Andersen, in addition to lesser-known gems like Rosa’s Tale, by Louisa May Alcott of Little Women fame, this collection of tender tales of holidays long past are best listened to with a cup of hot cocoa, a cozy blanket, and a sentimental state of mind.

I was not as familiar with the early extracts in this selection, but a Christmas Carol will always remain one of my favourite tales.
the narrator dies a god job of injecting the right tones of solemnity, fear and dreadcwith the ghosts arrivals and brings the light tones of joy and a new start that Scrooge turns to in his new life.
A good start to my Christmas holiday listening!!
