About this listen

Modern Man in Search of a Soul is the classic introduction to the thought of Carl Jung. Along with Freud and Adler, Jung was one of the chief founders of modern psychiatry. In this book, Jung examines some of the most contested and crucial areas in the field of analytical psychology: dream analysis, the primitive unconscious, and the relationship between psychology and religion.

Very insightful, he covers so many base concepts in this book in his perfect Jung manner.

Great

beautifully read, beautifully written. I listened to Jung's autobiography first, and while it was excellent, this was probably a better and more relevant introduction into Jung's world. He is the only doctor to have diagnosed the spiritual malaise of the 20th century man correctly. Full credit to him.

Incredible

blew my mind , listened to it twice now as Jung takes some damn thought, I can see myself listening many more times! If anyone else talked like Jung youd say they were crazy , but Jung really does such an excellent job of explaining the unexplained and really pushing human thought as far as it can go without getting all hippy B.S. This book really spoke to me and I will be reading more Jung. I'm just turned 40 and it would be most suitable for people my age or similar. Wonderful narration too.

blew me away

Although it's difficult material, I think it's a very special and mindopening document. I think i can re-listen to it again and again and learn something new everytime.

I found the accessibility of the information in this book a challenge. However with effort it has been rewarding and enlightening as to the sources of content of a lot of modern best sellers!

Would I recommend this to a friend: Yes.

Interesting but challenging listen.

An incredibly intelligent, and insightful man, C G Jung has presented his own findings and observations of humanity in a format which is relatively easy to understand, with a limited knowledge of psychology. This is part of the
recommended reading list from Prof. Jordan B Peterson, for those studying psychology, and I feel that the points dealt with in this book are essential for a full understanding of human behavior.

Great Book

For those with little knowledge of Jung, I would recommend downloading the "A Very Short Introduction to Jung" by Anthony Stevens prior to downloading this book as this should provide a sufficient background before listening to this book.

This book is based upon a collection of Jung's Lectures and I found it utterly fascinating. My only gripe would be the narrators voice which was very American (sorry!!) and I found it distracted me when I can came to re-listen to the book. However I would still recommend this book.

Great, insightful work..

Jung is a great mind, his work is so profound yet eloquently presented and structured.
