About this listen
Misery Chastain was dead. Paul Sheldon had just killed her - with relief, with joy. Misery had made him rich; she was the heroine of a string of best sellers. And now he wanted to get on to some real writing.
That's when the car accident happened, and he woke up in pain in a strange bed. But it wasn't the hospital.
Annie Wilkes had pulled him from the wreck, brought him to her remote mountain home, splinted and set his mangled legs. The good news was that Annie was a nurse and had painkilling drugs. The bad news was that she was Paul's Number One Fan. And when she found out what Paul had done to Misery, she didn't like it. She didn't like it at all. And now he had to bring Misery back to life. Or else....

Amazing Book, Amazing Audio Book
The best book I have ever listened to, the narrator voiced each character very well. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat, you feel like you're there with Paul; a writer kidnapped by a psychopathic fan.

Be ready to hate a fictional character
Never in my life have I hated a character more than I hate Annie Wilkes. This was such a good book, I couldn't stop until I knew the end. If you love Stephen King, you will love this

Outstanding in every way!
Reading briefly through other reviews I am somewhat at a loss to understand how the performance of this SK masterpiece can be faulted. For me, it was a virtuoso performance par excellence! Annie Wills literally came alive in this narration with a fearsomely convincing range of that character’s psychological shifts. Her rages and tantrums, blank-outs and weird moments if tenderness were all juxtaposed brilliantly. The book itself us one of King’s best in my opinion so in summary, this was one of the best listens I’ve ever enjoyed with Audible!
A huge recommend!
