Very entertaining. Perhaps a tad long? Excellent narration apart from the strange pronunciations here and there like “hovering” “ consortium” “rifling”. I’m not sure if it was an American who thought those were English pronunciations, which they were not.

I was a bit put off this book by the reviews but I loved it. I really liked the main characters and the banter was very funny. The story was a bit different and contrary to the other reviewers I loved the theme.

Whilst the Narrator is skilled, the fact she sounds like a chain smoker in her 60s throws the story askew as Imogen is portrayed as a young woman. It spoilt the story for me.

Perfect narration enhances this hilarious Regency romp. Zaimar rules and it allows all kind of ridiculous scenarios and misinterpretations to occur resulting in the desired outcomes.

They don't write them like this any more, sadly.

This is what you want and expect of an Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz novel; a fast paced, easy to listen to, romp through a not exactly accurate Regency England.
The story whilst somewhat unlikely is engaging, the characters reasonably likeable and the whole thing well narrated by Barbara Rosenblat.
This author's books are fun reads, light-hearted and a good way to switch off and relax into an alternate reality that never really existed. This is no Georgette Heyer but then few ever reach those peaks, however, taken for what it is, it's definitely worth a listen.
