absolutely creepy and brilliant
I truly appreciated the relentless action in this book. I listened to it on the heels of two dnf-d horror books that were deeply character based with nothing much happening, and Mean Spirited was just what i needed.
The story is full force from page one. It's deeply unsettling with vivid descriptions, and an absolute pleasure to read and get goosebumped by. Nick Roberts did absolute justice to his reputation!
The audiobook was spectacular, the narrator, Spencer Dillehay did a great job at immersing you in the story, and he caught me out a few times when changing an octave within a sentence during an entity speaking, that always freezes me whatever I'm doing and gives me chills 🫣
