About this listen

A short story from British Library Crime Classic Deep Waters.

Detective Inspector Humbleby explains to series-favourite Gervase Fen why the police like blackmail cases when relaying the story of two American brothers, Saul and Harry Colonna, and their boating fun that ended in disaster.

I am a loyal fan of Crispin and his eccentric heroes. The plots are always clever and I deeply regret Edmund Crispin’s all too early demise, a gifted man by all accounts. This is another tale that was a pleasure to read.
