About this listen
Alan Pender, a bored, 20-something, college graduate with a degree in general studies woke up the day after graduation and suddenly realized his degree was useless and he had to get a job. As he walked around looking for help wanted signs, a series of unfortunate accidents occurred resulting in him entering a coma. When he woke up, he discovered he'd been granted a mysterious system. Moreover, the system finally provided him with some direction about what he should do with his life. Follow Alan as he explores his new found calling!

I will be listening to again when I want another light read!
Great short story

The LitRPG / game system part is nicely woven into the story, but doesn't get in the way of the characters.
The coffee cake with a layer of streusel in the middle as well as on top sounds delicious. I'm going to have to try that myself one morning.
Possibly spoilery: it was nice to see the legal system portrayed realistically for once in fiction!
A wonderful slice of life!

There are however some ugly bits, first and foremost being the writing. I know the book is a bit tongue-in-cheek so the author might be making fun of other books in the genre, but the sheer amount of repetitions is mind-boggling. In fact, there wasn't a single synonym for the word "coffee" used in the whole book, so it tends to appear several times per paragraph.
The second thing that irked me a bit was the ending was a bit forced. I strongly doubt things at the beginning of the plotline would happen as they happened if that particular ending was true.
The third and most annoying thing is the drink the protagonist makes should not be called coffee. One might call it bathwater, coffee-flavoured tea or even slop, but not coffee.
Would you like a synonym roll with your coffee?
