About this listen

'The decisions Harry made within the next few seconds would stay with him for the rest of his life - or result in his immediate death. And he knew it.'

When a gang war threatens to rip the metropolis apart, 'London's top copper' finds himself under siege. Held accountable for the unstoppable wave of chaos that is turning the streets of his city red with blood, hounded by a media he cannot understand and continually thwarted by an establishment cover-up, H is in trouble. As the chaos in London reaches boiling point, can he bring the streets under control?

I really enjoyed this, the characters and plot. action packed and well worth a listen!

Great narration - action packed story

The story was unbelievable with policemen acting more like thugs. The narrator jumped from one chapter to the next without a pause for breath. This meant the story was difficult to follow.
I listened to the end but wish I hadn’t.
Ended with a ‘cliffhanger’. I will not bother reading the next book.

Very confusing narration and unbelievable story.

Excellent depth of characters.. Storyline entwined really well.
Policing the way it should be... Looking forward to next books..

Good old fashioned cop story...

This is an interesting review, only because it's a tale of two halves. I listened to the whole thing, despite its being utterly ridiculous, because I was hoping it would lend itself to comedy in order to at least partly justify how completely ridiculous it all was. However, no comedy or comedic angle ever appeared. In itself, that made the whole book absolutely idiotic, and frankly a waste of time. We were expected to believe that a lone cop was capable of single-handedly taking out entire organised crime networks despite having been suspended from duty long after he ever would in real life, and never being arrested or followed up by any of his colleagues. He also appeared to be able to do things he could 30 years previously when he was in the military. Essentially, he was portrayed as being James Bond mixed with Jason Statham alongside Rocky and with more than a hint of Steven Seagal.

You get the idea. if you like a yarn, no matter how stupid, this might be for you. If, however, you understand that fiction is just that, but at least has to be rooted in reality, then put down this rubbish and move on to something else.

Very odd nonsense

What did you like most about London Large: Blood on the Streets?

Being a Londoner myself and having been brought up near Bermondsey I can relate to the writers description of the area. An excellent book and a believable story. Brilliant narrating from Greg Wagland. A definite 10 out of 10 for me and right up my street. Hoping for a series of Harry books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All three main characters Harry, Ameliaand Ronnie are great characters.

Have you listened to any of Greg Wagland’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No. But a good writer so will search fore.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it had to be read in three sittings.

Any additional comments?

Thanks Audible. One of the better books I have listened to in a long while.

Excellent Listen.

What made the experience of listening to London Large: Blood on the Streets the most enjoyable?

The characters were very realistic and the pace was fast.

What was one of the most memorable moments of London Large: Blood on the Streets?

The shock of such unprecedented violence in a tranquil royal park in broad daylight.

Have you listened to any of Greg Wagland’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of the slang and the way the main characters spoke made me laugh. There were also some sad bits and an awful lot of suspenseful quick paced drama.

I really enjoyed this story. A little far fetched at times, but that’s what makes it fun (if that’s the right word). I liked all of the main characters. A really good listen and excellent narrator.

Excellent story!

Thug police officer doesn’t do much investigating just assaults people in London - never sure who was supposed to be the villain. Only credible character is a blogger who sums up useless, homicidal cop at the start. Just how ludicrous this is - at an office meeting he tries to strangle a colleague, in front senior officers and no one bats an eyelid!!

Unrealistic tosh
