Été 1944 : Sadorski a passé huit mois en prison. L'administration le libère en échange d'un rapport sur le transfert de l'ex-ministre Georges Mandel, otage des nazis, qui va être tué sous ses yeux. Crime ordonné par la SS ou par la Milice ? Peu après, un inconnu blessé est enlevé par des flics allemands en civil. L'inspecteur met ses adjoints sur l'affaire et l'un d'eux est abattu à son tour. Dans un bar tenu par des truands, Sadorski rencontre un jeune milicien qui semble être un pervers sexuel. Ce personnage va le mener à la plus terrifiante "Gestapo française" opérant dans ces dernières semaines avant la Libération...
