Sunt aici jocuri de oglinzi fascinante, mari aripi ale imaginaţiei bătând nebuneşte spre absolut, humor şi înfiorări spirituale profunde, altoiuri fecunde şi inovaţii temerare, candoare şi savanterie. Ba poate chiar atâta farmec încât să împace cu poezia şi pe cei care au renunţat să o mai citească."

Levantul, un titlu cu pretenții…

RO: Un titlu prea cu pretenții pentru această carte care include câteva pasaje foarte hazlii referitoare la istoria noastră dar și multe secvențe monotone și plicticoase. Probabil totul constă în capacitatea fiecăruia de a pătrunde în universul lui Cărtărescu, ceva ce eu nu am reușit până acum.
