About this listen

A new person will enter your life in the early year, Leo. Look past any moments of frustration they might bring and laugh - this could be the start of a thriving friendship.

Theo Wallace usually laughs at the horoscopes his mom sends. Still hung up on his ex-girlfriend and practically friendless, this one begs him to reconsider. Because a friendship that stuck, that thrived...well, that would be a reason to leave past pains behind and look to the bright future.

When his sister Leone challenges him to find her the perfect date for a spring wedding, Theo uses it as a chance to make new friends. Theo's ex-economics tutor and newest roommate, Mr. Jamie Cooper, seems to be a possible and convenient match. Real convenient. Like written in the stars, convenient. All he has to do is make sure this Jamie is good enough. Could really be "The One" for her and the friend for him. But watch out, Leo, the stars have a surprise in store....

Contains mature themes.

Great Narrator

I have no idea why there are reviews saying that the narrator is bad. We're those people listening under water? The narrator is really good and he's consistent with the character voices. I enjoyed listening to him.
The story itself annoyed me because the whole premise 'Theo is oblivious that he's bi' is dragged out to the enth degree. Men of his age are just bags of hormones, and even though, early on in the story were told Theo loves sex, his character from then on is written as being so sexless that he doesn't even realise his new roommate is gay and they're falling in love. The clueless flirty one liners were overused and irritating after a while. No one is THAT unaware of themselves and the consequences of their actions. It's kinda like the author didn't want to use any words in the first 3/4 of the book that would label it as a gay romance. I'd heard so much hype about this series, but I guess I should have gotten used to disappointment.

Great story, disappointing narration.

The story itself is excellent! A lot of good banter that had me laughing out loud and the chemistry between the characters is scorching but unfortunately the narration put me off. Definitely recommend the story but perhaps choose to read it instead of listening to the audiobook version.

great characters and a cute story

the characters were well thought out, with relatable character traits. The voices however, in some parts are very cartoon like. worth a listen.

not a fan of the narration

The narrator sounded angry and like he didn't enjoy the read so it took away from the listener's experience. couldn't really get into the story or connect to the characters. I would try again with s different narrator.

Just okay

Neat little story, if you believe the characters they have to be really niaive- narrated voices à but weird at times, okay for an included book

Poor narration

The story was a nice slow burn with lovable characters. I'm going to buy part 2 for sure. But the narrator was horrible. Every sentence read in the same serious tone and you could hear he had to strain himself for Jamie's voice.

Loved the story, shame about the narrator....

Eek, dreadful. Had to dnf after 25%, and was so looking forward to the audio. This story was one of my absolute faves of 2016, but the narrator made Jamie sound as though he had a stick up his backside, so excruciatingly pompous and Theo was just wooden. No hint of the devilry and laughter the story seemed to suggest for him [and I have read the story 3 times], so disappointing. Unfortunately Mr Sanda was the wrong choice for this story, he's too monotonous, and I won't be listening to anything else he narrates. 😕

Talk about clueless!

Great start to the series, I love all the characters they're so full and believable, I feel like I know them. Slow burn, clueless character romance, and a HEA. Narration was good, though I felt the narrator struggled a little with female voices, but it didn't detract from the performance.
