About this listen

The war between the Circlians and Pentadrians is over, but the cost has been high on both sides. Although the architect of the White's victory, Auraya feels no joy. Her days are spent trying to reconcile the Dreamweavers and the priesthood, while her sleep is filled with nightmares. The dead haunt her, and the only one she trusts to help has vanished.

Still struggling to come to terms with the increasingly powerful memories of the long-dead Mirar, the Dreamweaver, Leiard, flees into the mountains with Emerahl, perhaps the last of the Wilds. Emerahl is powerfully gifted, and helps Leiard to make sense of his strange jumble of memories. What they discover will change his life, and the world, forever.

Review of The Last of the Wilds

Having read the first in the series, and being familiar with Canavan's other series, the Black Magician Trilogy, it was easy to draw parallels between the two story lines. Both featuring girls of a poor, unassuming background being elevated at a remarkable rate through both hard work and determination to a position of respect and power. A position that is then challenge, in this case by Auraya's discovery that the things she loves the most aren't all that they seem.

The naration is very good and clear with a good use of different accents to give the different species and races their own identity and it also makes it easy to follow who is speaking.

A very enjoyable story.

Good

The only bad thing is that it is abridged.
Love the story and a great voice. Story will make more sense if you read/ listen to the other one first.
