About this listen

She would like nothing more than for him to make the move from British Columbia to Tennessee. But he has to decide if the chemistry they have will blossom into something that will last long enough for him to rationalize moving across the continent.

Will they allow distance to separate them or let their hearts speak louder than their circumstances as they kiss under the New Year’s Eve fireworks?

I don't think I've listened to that many short stories, but this one was sweet and with a Southern flavor. I liked it for the most part and somehow related more to Hayden than Amber. What I hadn't realized was that their relationship would be so focused on the physical part (there are plenty of passionate kisses, though nothing further, and a big part of the story felt it was all about their looks). What threw me off was when Dustin implied that he'd have been glad to help a friend with a drunk girl who was all over him.

The narrator nailed pretty much all the nuances (excitement, anger, hurt, and everything in between) as well as every mention of "Southern accents". However, I also think there's room for improvement in her male voices, since yes, even though at first one could tell them apart, there were times in Hayden's conversation with Amber that I couldn't follow who was saying what.

Overall, a pretty short story about making hard decisions and falling for someone who lives so far from home. Recommended to fans of the author and/or the Sweet romance genre. ~ 3.5 stars
