هذا ما تُحاول الكاتبة نوال السعداوي الإجابة عنه في كتاب "ملك وامرأة وإله" الذي يأتي على هيئة مقالات غنيّة وبعض القصص الخفيفة؛ تبدأها بفصل "الكباري مع السلطة والمجتمع" الذي تدعو فيه إلى التغيير في أنظمة التربية والتعليم وفي السياسة وفي وظيفة المرأة في المجتمع وغيرها من الأفكار المتألِّقة والأمور الشائكة.
أمّا الفصل الثاني فيأتي بعنوان" تحرير المرأة...تحرير الوطن" وتتكلَّم عن الأمر الذي دافعت عنه على مدى الخمسين عامًا الماضية ألا وهو حقوق المرأة والمساواة بينها وبين الرَّجل.
وفي كل فصل من فصول هذا الكتاب تناقش السعداوي موضوعاً شائكاً تتحدث عنه بأسلوبها المميز.
