Do this book justice by listening, you won't be disappointed, well I certainly wasn't. The whole idea of super hero's causing more chaos than they solve isn't a new one but the fact that this book is told by three different characters makes it one of the better ones. You are given the perspective from the older experienced hero who is trying to change the system from within for the better, the jaded cop who used to be a hero but is now tasked with putting a stop to them and the young headstrong teen who needs to right all the wrongs his way. This works well and makes for an entertaining plot. It is well worked to keep the action and drama flowing and doesn't confusing. Throw in some rouge vigilantes, old grudges and family secrets and you have a superhero book worth listening too, one that isn't full of sex and teenage lust. I like the characters and the different and complicated dynamics between them, which was helped by listening to the previous books. Off to start the book to find out how Sawyer gets out of the mess he is in.
The super hero's have been asked to lay down there capes and masks, as no super hero's mean no super villain fights to destroy cities. New York city has even set up there own task force to take down anyone who doesn't comply. The problem is crime doesn't stop and the world still needs hero's, even if they are being hunted. Sawyer as Harrier is one of those hero's but how long can he keep fighting the good fight? When even his girlfriend is opposed to what he does. His father thinks the only way forward is to make changes from within the system and is running for mayor. Can Sawyer continue with everything going on? Especially when he is being hunted by someone he once called a friend?
The choice of three narrators was a good idea because they all sounded different, making it easy to know what character you were following in that chapter. Although one voice was very deep.
