Natten mellem den 27. og 28. september 1994 befandt danskere Morten Boje Hviid sig på færgen Estonia, der forliste under en storm på Østersøen og trak 852 med sig i dybet. Morten Bøje Hviid overlevede som en af de få forliste. Men overlevelsen kom med en pris.

Morten Boje Hviid (f. 1966) er en dansk socialdemokrat og politisk rådgiver. Morten Boje Hviid er oprindeligt uddannet fra Roskilde Universitet og har været ansat ved både Landbrugs- og Fiskeriministeriet og Forsvarsministeriet.
Morten Boje Hviid overlevede Estonia-forliset.
