My name is Ethan Drake, and I’m a police detective. And I got plenty darkness to give.

So does my partner, who’s a demon, and frankly, a royal pain in my ass. But occult investigators are in short supply in the PD, so what are you going to do? Anyway, we just caught a bodysnatching case that has the stench of occult workings all over it. Seems someone wants to summon something bad into this world, something that threatens the very fate of humanity. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the snarkiest Hellicorn in the known universe.... You know that thing threatening all of humanity?

Engaging entertaining just the right amount of cop, funny, mystical and violence great characters and the narrator keeps the story moving at a nice pace. I’ve enjoyed this trio of books good value and I’ve enjoyed it a few times. Well worth downloading

I love these urban fantasy books having already read a few like Spectral detective from the uncanny kingdom collection, ( read the whole series) thought I'd try these 3 and I wasn't disappointed.
Made me laugh out loud a few times especially the antics of the 'hell bastards' and the hellicorn whom I enjoyed listening to very much.
Brian Wiggins voice was a pleasure to listen to and brought the characters to life with amazing detail which wasn't too much or over the top. Already purchased the next 3 books as i cant wait to see how the story unfolds and grows.
Nothing bad at all to say about the author, the storyline or the narrator. One thing I will say, which didn't bother me at all, is the colourful language used is explicit so if you're easily offended by swear words avoid these books.
If you love this genre with a strong main character, a detective with a story to tell but with laughs a long the way, then give these a try.

easy to listen to no long winded plots everything moves along speedily.
if you’re like me and want no long winded plots good humour moves along quick then this is the book for you .

I thought the story and books themselves were a great distraction, very enjoyable. The narrator was also perfect for this genre and character. Howerver, the performance score gets dropped thanks to random oddities in the trilogy. Everyone is trapped and then the next chapter they are all... Book 1 chapter 15 I think just ends for no reason and no continuity to 16. It felt there were more whilst moving through books 2 and 3.

Can’t believe that I got these 3 brilliant books for one credit. Usually if such a deal is on offer I would assume that the books were so-so at best. Not this time. Fast moving multi-layered plots, amazing array of imaginative, bizarre but well rounded characters and a tough, but moral code bound, protagonist. I can’t wait to read book 4 and will be recommending this hidden gem urban fantasy series to others who I know also like this genre.
