About this listen
The new book from acclaimed writer Mark Dawson (author of the number one best-selling John Milton series), In Cold Blood is an action-packed thriller about ruthless betrayal and bloodthirsty vengeance.
Beatrix Rose was the most dangerous assassin in an off-the-books government kill squad until her former boss betrayed her. A decade later, she emerges from the Hong Kong underworld with payback on her mind. They gunned down her husband and kidnapped her daughter, and now the debt needs to be repaid. It's a blood feud she didn't start but is going to finish. Beatrix has already crossed one name off her Kill List. Her second target is a mercenary being held hostage by Somali terrorists. Can she infiltrate the most dangerous failed state on the planet and scrub him off the List, too?
Packed with explosive action and pause-resistant suspense, this is the must-listen first novel in a brand new series that is sure to be as successful as the John Milton series.

Would you consider the audio edition of In Cold Blood to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version of this story, but having read other books by the same author which I have thoroughly enjoyed, I suspect that both would be equally enjoyable. The audio edition could be better than the print version with a better narrationWho was your favorite character and why?
The heroine Beatrix Rose is my favourite character, she is very well developed in the story, and the 'back story' to why she is on the vendetta is very well explained.I also like the light and dark of this character, she is a loving and caring mother (albeit with some rather strange ideas on what makes a good education!) but is also a ruthless and skilfull killer.Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Mark Deakins?
The narrator had a rather droning voice, and I found it difficult to concentrate on the story for more than about 45 mins. at a time, so anyone with a more involving voice and who could do a more convincing english accent would be preferable.Any additional comments?
The story, particularly towards the end is very exciting, but the narrator's voice didn't really convey this, and didn't carry any particular emotion, which I believe detracted from the overall impression.Cracking story rather let down by narration

She is not the one you want to cross and she will take you down and shows no mercy. I pity the ones that she is going after and they will not even see her coming, I look forward to the next instalment, this was thrilling

Would you consider the audio edition of In Cold Blood to be better than the print version?
I listened to the audio edition in it's entirety before starting the print version so, yes. What was one of the most memorable moments of In Cold Blood?
Beatrix Rose's gift to her daughterWhich scene did you most enjoy?
All of the descritive scenes of habitations - they are alive and vibrant., very visual. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not moved, no, but the description of the hostage taking and holding by the pirates/terrorists was chilling.Any additional comments?
After a very brief initial dismay at the reader's accent, and unlike some earlier reviewers, I found the narration matched perfectly with the fast paced story and the dialogue was skilfully done, each character being identifiable - not an easy task.I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to Beatrix Rose's next assignment.
