I don’t have a great reading history and the only book I have actually got into was Jonny Wilkinson’s autobiography, however this book gripped me from start to finish.
You can tell such honesty, passion and emotion went into writing this book and it’s interesting to hear all about how we are kept safe.
These guys put themselves in danger daily and the descriptions about the operations and how much goes on we don’t know about is really well written and really well captured in the reading. From what I’ve studied in criminal law enforcement the descriptions of the operations are not far fetched as some people make out, if anything you don’t get the complete picture I’d say.
It’s an absolutely brilliant read and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a gripping, edge of your seat true life book to read.

Great follow up I just hope there is more to come. As in the first book the narration is excellent, the storyline engaging and in the most it’s fast paced leaving you wanting more. Good to hear more about the authors upbringing and also the effect of the job on others around him. Whilst he doesn’t champion his PTSD it’s great to listen to him (via the narrator) open up in the hope other will follow.

After reading Soldier Spy, I was really looking forward to I Spy being released. I listened to it on commutes and felt as though I was a part of the operations hearing the radio transmissions. The story is incredible, Tom Marcus goes into great detail on how his life was really like, there are some incredible chapters which also tug on the heart strings.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading (listening) to Tom Marcus’s books and this one has topped it right off. Thankyou TC and Jason Langley
