About this listen

The long-awaited new memoir and follow-up to the bestselling Ramble Book

‘Hey, how you doing readers? Adam Buxton here… Let's begin with a recap. No, don't skip it! It's great stuff in the form of a montage of scenes from a film that would certainly revive the flagging fortunes of the cinema were it to be made: The Adam Buxton Story…’

So begins I Love You, Byeee – Adam Buxton’s wonderful follow up to the bestselling Ramble Book. Joe Cornish, David Bowie, Louis Theroux, The Adam & Joe Show, Stephen!, Rosie – the great and the good of the wonderful world of Dr Buckles are out in force in this wonderful new memoir – a book that explores the joys of comedy, but also navigating adulthood, losing loved ones and working out how to be a parent. Funny, tender, and cut through with Adam’s hysterical rambling asides, this is a delightful memoir about growing up, growing old and figuring it all out. ‘Buckle up. Here we go…’

A quality dose of literary medicine from the doctor. I endorse this book. Some stars.

Had a wonderfully long dog walk listening to this latest plop of waffles from Adam Buxton. Loved how it drifted between topics so seamlessly keeping it flowing and an entertaining listen. The additional chapters not in the print version are a brilliant free gift especially the Bowie one. The preview of some of the upcoming album tracks was a nice touch and definitely going to listen when it’s released. Finally the Jonny Greenwood “Ramble Chat” remix is awesome and deserves a place on the main podcast.

I loved it - byeeee!

Well it was worth the wait!! I’m only at the end of chapter 4 but I was listening to it on my way home and absentmindedly walked the full 7 miles because I was enjoying it so much. It’s funny and tender and characteristically honest - it feels like a night in a cosy bar with a friend. Beautifully performed with jingles and rambles, I’d highly recommend to Buxton fans! It’s a 10 out of 5 for me.

I could listen to Adam for hours...and I regularly do. This is a perfect read whether or not you're familiar with his work. However as a veteran fan, it ticked all the boxes and even made me very emotional in parts. Love you, Buckles!

Smashed it again, Buckles
