I was stranded. Today, I tell people I have Wi-Fi to God, but I’ve been in the wilderness without a connection and I’ve wandered around without any hope of signaling somebody for help. There was a presence in my life—one that did want me, one that loved me and cared for me; it took decades to recognize the bar that never fell.
