For nogle år siden fandt Poul Martinsen tilfældigt ud af, at "hypnosemorderen" Palle Hardrup, der i 1951 begik to mord i forbindelse med et meget omtalt bankkup på Nørrebro, mord, som angiveligt skulle være udført under indflydelse af hypnose fra vaneforbryderen Bjørn Schouw Nielsen, nu boede under nyt navn et andet sted i København.
Martinsen opsøgte ham og indledte en samtale med ham, dels om forbrydelsen for 60 år siden, og hvad der gik forud for den, dels om, hvad der senere var sket i hans liv.
