Top ten Sunday Times Bestseller

‘Engaging, ambitious and creative’ Guardian

Where are we? Are we alone? Who are we? Why are we here? What is our future?

Human Universe tackles some of the greatest questions that humans have asked to try and understand the very nature of ourselves and the Universe in which we live.

Through the endless leaps of human minds, it explores the extraordinary depth of our knowledge today and where our curiosity may lead us in the future. With groundbreaking insight it reveals how time, physics and chemistry came together to create a creature that can wonder at its own existence, blessed with an unquenchable thirst to discover not just where it came from, but how it can think, where it is going and if it is alone.

Accompanies the acclaimed BBC TV series.

Loved it!

Brian Cox has the amazing ability to make the seemly impossible, seem possible and understandable.
Fantastically optimistic and uplifting view of humanity.
Brian is on my fantasy dinner list at least twice!
I was disappointed to see he wasn't reading it himself but the narrator did an engaging and great job!

Great Book and easy listening.

Brian Cox has a great power to make physics understandable and translate that to the public.
I would give this book 4.999999999 out of 5 with the only negative the cricket analogies. I’m sure he could’ve used any sport to describe the analysis but this is another personal touch.
On a serious note though this book is an easy listen and deeply interesting if you consider the rise of the human race on Earth.
Coupled with the description of our place in the cosmos and the author and narrators abilities I would recommend this book to anyone.

Excellent book beautifully read

This book is both fascinating and inspiring at the same time. In depth science facts delivered to you in manageable language and engaging narrative. How better to learn about the evolving timeline of cosmology and our planet than from THE contemporary expert. Highly recommended for pleasure and education.

surprisingly moving and beautifully written

what a piece of work a man is.... and what a beautiful piece of writing this is. I found myself quite moved by this work. The narration is understated and perfect for the subject matter, and the words of the Prof flow effortlessly from the page. This loveletter to mankind is simply stunning!

Beautiful

Fantastic love letter to humanity. Delivered in a passionate and poetic, thought provoking way.

I'm now off to find a grassy hill and some cider with Joy Division in ears and the words of Processor Cox in my mind.

Great book, brilliantly narrated!!

You know what you are getting with Brian Cox - it's not going to be bad, is it? Well the book is superb and narrated really well. I think it was a good idea for Brian not to narrate this - he's great and everything but I don't imagine even he would say he's a world class narrator.
