I really enjoyed everything about this! Both the story, and the way the narrator brings them to life is fantastic. I have already started books 4-6

Story: its slightly amusing. its not laugh out loud funny. "he looked at her the way Brian Cox looked at a particularly interesting mountain expanse". if that made you laugh out loud youll love it. I may have slightly grinned occasionally.

but the narration. Just. Bad. The guy cant do voices so if multiple characters are taking to each other its difficult to know who is who. He also says every single line in the same rhythm.. with the same bored tone...with the inflection at the end that makes it sound like every sentence is a question. it just drove me insane and totally put me off. I wont be listening to the next set if hes the narrator.

loved this book. if you like sarcastic, off beat humour then this is right perfect. the character of death is hilarious, and the summoning of war when he was having a bath made me roar with laughter. granted the narrator hasn't got the most accents available, but he still delivers well.

Death is bored. Dave is dead. Melanie is unattainable. Their lives (or deaths) are intertwined. This is a great read.

Terribly boring narrator. Just feels like he's reading a script and not trying g to tell a story. Very little change in voice for different characters made it had to work out who was speaking.

I generally look for books that are 10hours or more duration- so I could so easily have missed this series. So glad I didn’t as I really enjoyed every minute of Dave’s story. Best portrayal of Death since Pratchett and I feel certain Terry would have approved (but then again, who knows🤷🏼‍♀️). Bought the next volume before the end of book 1 of 3. Highly recommend
