About this listen
On the surface, Bucky has everything he needs. A beautiful family, a humble home, and the rural life he has always wanted. Then again, he's a deer.
One night, while out looking for his delinquent daughter, he comes across a self-destructive man whose honesty Bucky finds sad yet strangely refreshing. But when his only fawn, Beauty, starts coming home late after hanging out with the wrong crowd, the cracks begin to appear, and fate is about to push something through one of those cracks he never expected.
So begins a chain of events poised to do some quality control in Bucky's own circle in a unique, unusual, and unforgettable commingling of species.

"Beauty had been the perfect child..."
Bucky and his wife, Adelle, were having lifestyle issues with their rebellious daughter, Beauty, when an unexpected meeting and near death experience on a bridge resulted in Bucky brining home to stay with them the human who had saved his life. But all was not as it seemed.
This is an absolutely delightful tale of a good living family deer whose life is disrupted by the stranger he brings home to stay. Nicely narrated by Curtis Smith, it is silly, and at times amusing Unfortunate, it is sometimes also repetitious. However, I enjoyed the concept as well as the book's presentation: each new chapter heading is the last few words of the previous chapter. Very ingenious.
The book is short - only two hours - easy reading, and daft but fun. Just right to tuck into a listening corner to brighten the day. My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy.

Great storyline,
Narrated beautifully, one of the best narrators I heard. It tells a story of family life, with an adolescent daughter, with the trials and tribulation, of trying to make the world make sense
