brilliant and gripping narration by Joshua Saxon and an absolute fantastic set of stories by brian lumley, this collection is well worth the payment and is worthy of following in the footsteps of mr H.P. lovecraft.

Absolutely fantastic tales from the Cthulhu Mythos. Eell wriiten and beautifullily narrated. I will certainly be buying more from this author and narrator combo. O thoroughly recommend it to any one who enjoys Mythos stories or wants to try out Cosmic Horror as a new thing.

Lumley’s evocative prose is ever intricate and engaging. Wherefore dedicated listening is paramount to get the best out of it.

I really enjoy most of Lumley’s Mythos creations away from Titus Crow (post Burrowers Beneath) but the stories including “The Black” in this collection are brilliant! Saxon also lends his brilliant voice to these stories as usual. Highly recommend for any fan of the Cthulhu Mythos.

Haggopian and Other Stories is a collection of short tales based on the Cthulhu Mythos created by horror legend H. P. Lovecraft. I've always thought that Brian Lumley is the best Mythos writer since the great man himself and this audiobook certainly goes a long way in proving that belief. The quality of stories throughout is very high. My personal favourites were Aunt Hester, Haggopian and Curse of the Gloden Guardians, but there are no real weak links here.
It only took me about two minutes into the first story to realise that Joshua Saxon was the perfect choice as narrator. His performance perfectly conveys the impending dread and sheer terror that the characters are experiencing. I honestly couldn't imagine a narrator more suited for this collection. I know it'll be an audiobook that I'll come back to again and again.
Highly recommended for fans of Lovecraft, Lumley and classic horror in general.
