I Aaret 2020 er H.C. Andersen som alle i Kongeriget gaaet i Quarantaine, men paa sit Kammer i Nyhavn savner han saavel Adsprædelse som aldehaande Fornødenheder. Han holder Aanden rank ved at gjøre Papirèsclip til Prindserne og Prindsesserne, men en dag bliver hans Trang til at se Verden ham for stor, og han beslutter at gaae til Amalienborg og bede om Audiens.
