About this listen

An original full-length novel set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!

Find. Claim. Profit.

In a post-Covenant War galaxy littered with scrap, it’s the salvager’s motto - and Rion Forge certainly made her mark on the trade. All she wanted was to grow her business and continue the search for her long-lost father, but her recent discovery of a Forerunner debris field at the edge of human-occupied space has now put her squarely in the crosshairs of the Office of Naval Intelligence and the violent remains of the Covenant. Each faction has a desire to lay claim to the spoils of ancient technology, whatever the cost, sending Rion and the crew of the Ace of Spades on a perilous venture - one that unexpectedly leads them straight into danger far greater than anything they’ve ever encountered....

One of the best narratives of any halo book

Buuuuut the narrator certainly could have been better in places. Her choice of accent completely ruins a character thats supposed to be menacing and intimidating. Doesn't ruin the book but man sucked me out of the story and killed immersion until the chapter was over.

Please give us a sequel and the good man Mr Brick

The story is fantastic and I did not expect the story to include and continue on so many threads in the lore. If a sequel arrives, I am on it!

Halo at its finest

Another fantastic entry to the Halo saga, brilliantly expands the lore in new directions and brings back unexpected but welcomed faces. With a new angle on the series never touched on before it's felshes out Halo's mythos nicely. If you've read or listened to the other recent entries to the Halo written form then this is an absolute treat.

Fantastic Book, Terrible Narration.

The story was absolutely astounding, such a fantastic take on the halo universe. I can’t wait to delve deeper into this realm of story telling grandeur as far as halo is concerned. Kelly Gay he certainly outdone herself, and done the Halo universe, and it’s fans, proud.

The voice acting, however, is quite terrible. I’ve never been so put off by a reading, the impressions for different individuals was horrific. At several key moments in the narrative I was completely un-immersed.

This was something I could just overlook when I got used to it, and when the story was riveting enough.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend a Justine Eyre read novel to anyone, and I’m astounded that she’s a veteran narrator of audiobooks.

i foung the narrator a little jarring at first each sentence ended a little to forcefully and disrupted the flow but as i got further in i got used to it and enjoyed it.
