Brought to you by Penguin, the gripping Sunday Times best seller from the best-selling author of Out of the Dark and Orphan X.

Once a government assassin codenamed Orphan X, Evan Smoak works as a vigilante for the desperate. Now he's ready to retire.

Then he gets a call.

Max Merriweather's cousin has been murdered, and the woman he needs to find is missing. On the run and stalked by an assassin, Max calls the one person who could save him: Evan Smoak.

But the forces ranged against Evan and Max are as lethal as Evan has ever faced. Keeping Max alive will be hard. Staying alive himself might be impossible....

Packed with edge-of-your-seat suspense, explosive action and razor-sharp plotting, Into the Fire is for fans of Lee Child, David Baldacci and James Patterson.

Read by Audie Award winning narrator Scott Brick.

So good!

I love this series of books and I’ve listened to them twice over. This one doesn’t disappoint! And what an ending. Will there be another one???

Good, but a superfluous addition to the saga...

I love the Orphan X series, but this entry just feels superfluous to the saga, especially after the main story narrative was pretty much wrapped up in the last one. It seems to miss the previous overarching antagonist and threat from previous entry’s. The returning narrator was flawless as always, but for the first time I noticed a mistake in the dialogue - “Your heart is racing 200 beats a second”? Not sure if that was an author or narrator mistake, but no big issue. Make no mistake, it was expertly written, fast paced and beautifully concluded in a perfectly sentimental way, but it doesn’t have the ‘big bad’ of the previous books and the author has had to make Evans main antagonistic force a ‘concussion’ to even it up a little. Good, but the weakest of the series.

Another great story

I was hoping there wouldn’t be an element of disappointment in a fifth Orphan X story. Could the same level of entertainment be reached as the previous books? Well, yes it could and yes it was. Another edge of seat thrilling ride.

Best yet of the Orphan series

Of all the Orphan Novels, Into the Fire has been the best. The way in which the plots develop & twist leave it very unpredictable.
I hope there’s another in the series
