About this listen

Meet Francine Witt: successful blogger, influencer, and wine expert. Not quite the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism she envisioned, but successful nonetheless.

When an auction for a long-lost bottle of 1943 Margaux—a rumoured key to Queen Nefertiti’s hidden treasure—takes place, Francine covers the event. But things take a thrilling turn when she witnesses two men steal the precious bottle from renowned Egyptologist Hermione Radcliffe, the auction winner. As prominent Egyptologists are murdered one by one, Francine finds herself thrust into the story of a lifetime.

FULL BODIED combines the intrigue of an Agatha Christie whodunit with the wit and charm of Bridget Jones, all with a feminist twist. Join Francine as she uncorks secrets, solves puzzles, and navigates a world where wine and murder collide!

Wine and lost treasure

I did like this book but to be honest I couldn't connect with the characters. The main character kept doing things that I couldn't understand why she did and everybody just acted entitled to things that wasn't theres. Although not turning the thieves in and stealing the bottle herself did mean the story lasted longer. The mystery focussed more on the Egyptian Queen than on the murders, so prepare for some history. I did find myself looking up Nefertiti to learn more and there is also a lot of talk about wine, which means nothing to me. A lot of information is giving in the form of news reports, blog posts and reading letters or diaries which while strange did seem to work for the story. The story did gel and was interesting, especially with the treasure hunt but I just didn't like the characters.

When somebody starts stealing experience bottles of wine from restaurants, Francine career as a blogger takes off. Normally she just writes about where to find the best or cheapest bottle of wine but everybody is turning to her for the latest gossip. Which is good because her interview with an ageing actresses is dull. Until Egyptologists holding a grand exhibition start getting killed off and her sister is the spear head for the collection. A chance encounter with the wine thieves has her stumbling along on a treasure hunt and in possession of a very expensive bottle. Will uncovering the clues on the bottle lead to the motive behind the Egyptologists deaths of will Francine become the next victim?
I liked the narrator, once I got use to her very English accent. Do we really sound like that? She did do some good voices and it was easy to tell the characters apart.

Great mystery

This is a great mystery, It has a little Agatha Christie, Bridget Jones and just for good measure Scooby -Doo. Francine Witt has a slot on a daytime television and a blog, but she wants to be taken seriously. She embarks on a treasure hunt, witch turns out to be very hazardous to health health. The narrator does a brilliant job. I enjoyed this story and hope there will be more books in this series.
