قال تعالى في سورة النّازعات "والأرْضَ بَعْدَ ذلكَ دَحَاهَا.أخرجَ مِنْها مَاءَهَا ومَرْعَاهَا" أمّا في سورة الفرقان فيقول تعالى: "وأنزلنا منَ السماء ماءً طهورًا"، فمن أين أتى هذا الكمُّ الهائل من المياه على سطح الأرض؟
هل خرجَ من باطنها أم نزلَ من السَّماء أم أنَّ أصله من جليد المذنَّبات كما أظهرت بعض نظريات العلماء الكثيرة التي تمَّ إجراءها على هذا المركَّب الذي يُعتبر سرُّ الحياةِ على الأرض وهو في حدِّ ذاته سرٌّ كبير؟
