Rob J. Hayes is honestly the best author out there. He has such a beautiful style of writing, his characters are all fully fleshed out, his world building is stunning.

I would, and do, recommend this series and author to anyone and everyone.

Moira Quirk is possibly my favourite narrator also. So this book has the perfect writing/reading combo.

Total banger, from start to finish, this is the best in the series so far. As usual, Moira Quirk is amazing, the story top-notch, and I even find myself liking this more grown up Eska.

Okay, cards on the table, I would pay to listen to Moira Quirk read the shipping forecast. She's an incredible performer with a brilliant, engaging voice who gets right inside the story and brings the characters to life. I bought this series for the performer, not the author.

But I was pleasantly surprised to discover a tightly plotted, engaging, dramatic narrative with plenty of original worldbuilding, a strong metaphysic, vibrant characters and a pleasingly twisty arc. I'm hooked - and really looking forward to the next installment.

Brilliant Grim Dark Fantasy

From Cold Ashes Risen has just blown the last two books out of the water, and they were excellent, its darker, Grimmer, more action-packed with battle scenes, and the magic on display is phenomenal. I absolutely love Rob J. Hayes writing, he takes you on such an emotional with his characters that you feel every despairing moment they go through. From book one to the end of book three, it has had me spell bound from start to finnish, and I still have two left to go. It is a dark fantasy series that emphasizes power and corruption, where the weak will always be vulnerable and fall prey to those with lust for immortality. Our main character Eskara still retains a certain of morality and honour throughout her dark adventures but burns with a vengeance to bring justice to those who wronged her. In this book From Cold Ashes Risen sees Eskara facing her most dangerous enemies yet, both within and without. With the loss of a few friends along the way, Will Eskara finally get to face her demons and finally bring the Empire to an end. Check out this amazing series to find out. It's absolutely fantastic. I can't highly recommend enough, now for book four Sins of The Mother...😁⚡️🔥🗡🖤
