About this listen

When a corpse is found floating in the River Thames, the police can at least be sure that identifying the victim will be straightforward. Around the dead man's wrist is a hospital band. On it are the words 'Dr F. Klein'.

But psychotherapist Frieda Klein is very much alive. And, after evidence linking her to the murder is discovered, she becomes the prime suspect.

gripping plot from the start

Big fan of Freda hope she does not dissappear now we have reached Friday and the weekend.I thought the narrator was fantastic Freda ' voice as I have imagined. The previous books I have read in paperback format so the narrator was important to my mental picture.I was ill in bed with flue I the plot was straight in and fast paced.I think a book has succeded when you can actually visualise them in your head

Simply superb!

Another awesome story from Nicci French. The writing gets into your soul, so it becomes a part of you, helped by the amazing narration. Anyone can be accused of murder it seems.

Another sleepless night with back to back ....

Tales of Freida, a most unlikeable protagonist, but the carnage around her is addictive x

Good not great

Passed the time but not enthralling. Didn’t feel characters were rounded and had no attachment to the central character. Some of the voices were OK but others were very, very similar. Won’t listen again but would listen to another if on offer.

Friday on my mind

Satisfying and involving plot. Would be good to see our heroine a bit more human though. Perhaps on Saturday?

A really good main character - I'm addicted to this series. am a therapist too which might be why but think this is really interesting as it's about damaged people and the relationships they form
