the book was just as amazing as the author's other series. However i enjoyed the other series's storyline a bit more.

everything is good..if you're a fan of the series I need say no more..but the characters are engaging the fights are good and the humour is on point.

A good intro to an interesting story idea, suffers from the same inability to seem personal and the relationships seem false too much surface chatter and they are always on the job, great for action but lacking in authenticity, I look forward to some character growth these litrpgs focus too much on the game aspect and levelling which is good in one aspect but lacks a personal touch too many characters thrown into impossible and ridiculous circumstances and they live every time it's to a point where it's no longer impressive. Might be thaf as I'm upto over 200 titles on here I'm noticing where the authors both purposely and by accident copy each others ideas and writing styles.

All of Rowe and Podehl's good points are still here but a lot of the magic just feels a little less complete. The interpersonal relationships are still fun.

Very good, but not as good as Arcane Ascension

This is my fourth book in this universe having come from the (currently) 3 Arcane Ascension books previously.

Overall I think it took a bit for this book to warm up and find its pace. The story was well paced once it got going but I feel as though it was a weaker book overall after coming from AA. It’s also a complete change of environment so some of what I feel may be due to that.

The story itself develops nicely once it finds its pacing and the character work is as intriguing as ever.

Nick Podehl as the narrator - what can I say? He’s absolutely fantastic and it’s a real treat to have him narrate this series too.

I can’t wait to start the second book now and look forward to working through all books in this universe.

I personally prefer his AA series but still an engaging story. Took a little while for me to really get into it but definitely enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes. Big fan of Nick Podehl as usual.

Good listen if you give it time to get you hooked

This has to be the worst book that Nick Podehl has narrated. To me, he sounds as if he is performing it under duress. The vocal characterisations seem to have plucked from an assortment of children's low budget American, cartoon pilots, that were rejected on first viewing. The use of modern phrases, with which the story is carelessly littered, is a poke in the ear with a sharp stick, that immediately ejects the listener, painfully, from what scant immersion in the narrative that they struggled heroically to attain.

I tried to listen to this, and just couldn't get into the story. The only reason I listened for the four and a half hours that I did, was because of the wonderful narration by Nick Podehl.
