Lieutenant Alexander Colton and February Owens were high-school sweethearts. Everyone in their small town knew from the moment they met they were meant for each other. Great story and well written. Didn't expect it to be as good as it was, a great surprise. First book read by Kristen Ashley and looking forward to my next read by her!

Really good story from start to finish

The usual Kristen Ashley format that lovers of hers will enjoy. Feel good story with a set of interesting characters that you can feel will lead into other stories. The narrator also has a great voice for the storyline, unfortunately there are really long pauses during the reading and the noises of her swallowing which could have easily been removed in post production. This was quite irritating and I found myself quite distracted by these moments.

I've previously read this on ebook but narration enhanced this wonderful story even more. The narrator was excellent and portrayed emotion, feeling, sarcasm so well.

Another Kristen Ashley series to love

Kristen Ashley's stories are always a bit of a gamble for me, mainly because I've enjoyed a fair few in the past, but I've also had a couple more average ones, and it's harsh to come in with high(er) expectations and find that it's not as good as I was hoping for.

Regardless, this is a good one! Ashley makes up good characters who are real people, living their lives, focusing on their varied small universes. It's by far one of the best features of her work, and though I was annoyed by the use of the over-tired poor communication trope, it was a very good story and the characters made it all the better.

It was a tense story, and though there was a lot of murder going about, most of the focus was on the development of the romance story, which I appreciated, because Colt and Feb had a good amount of stuff to work through.
