من والدتها الإيطالية ورثت الجمال، ومن والدها الثراء. كانت تخطو إلى العشرين حين عادت من مصر حيث درست علم الجمال فأشرق حسنها على مدينتها "السور" بمجتمعها المتنوع.
تظهر فجأة على الجدران كتابات لجماعة "الذكرى والتاريخ" التي أعلنت الثورة على الكفار مستبيحة المدينة قتلاً وذبحاً وسبياً باسم الشريعة.
اقتيدت النساء إلى مصيرهن أدوات متعة لأمراء الثورة الدينية، زهوراً ملونة تأكلها النيران.
إنها مدينة السور يا خميلة، إنه الوطن كله يهتف لها خطيبها.
الآن انتهى زمن وابتدأ زمن، وخميلة الجميلة التي صار اسمها نعناعة باتت سبيّة تنتظر أن تزفّ إلى أمير من أمراء الثورة لعله المتّقي نفسه.
