About this listen

Hidden in London is a legendary power. A fabled chest guards secrets more precious than gold.

But in 1666 secrets are deadly, and London is burning....

Charlie Tuesday is the city's best thief taker. But one case still eludes him, a mysterious key entrusted by the mother he barely knew. The key opens a chest of priceless papers - papers said to hold the dark alchemy of a lost Brotherhood.

As flames ravage the city, the thief taker must track the chest into London's blackest heart, where smugglers trade and sorcerers conjure. What Charlie begins to unravel is more ancient and powerful than he ever dreamed.

But time is running out and fire is the greatest purge of all.

great story. I normally read fantasy stories but I find the undercurrent of mysticism in these books satisfy that need well.

Great sequel story, wonderful narrator

Not quite as good as "The Thief Taker" but still a fantastic book, the authors really done their research, & enhanced a great historical story with an amazing narrator, sounnlding more like a cast of players than just one man! Definitely worth a listen.

Too long

What made the experience of listening to Fire Catcher the most enjoyable?

I liked the history and details

Would you be willing to try another book from C. S. Quinn? Why or why not?

I would think about it

What does Napoleon Ryan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I liked Ryan's reading at first but after 14 hours the voices began to grate

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

I was worn-out by hour 10 but was glad I finished

Engaging Story

Really like this series of books & I like the reader but the recording sounds as if he is reading the book with a plastic bucket on his head. Weird sound quality.
