About this listen

Meet Tony Hill's most twisted adversary - a killer with a shopping list of victims, driven by the most perverted of desires. The murder and mutilation of teenager Jennifer Maidment is horrific enough on its own. But it's not long before Tony realises it's just the start of a brutal and ruthless campaign that's targeting an apparently unconnected group of young people. Tony battles to find the answers that will give him personal and professional satisfaction in his most testing investigation yet.

The story, both private and main plot were absolutely great! Tony Hill at his best!

Best Wire in the blood I've heard so far!

sadly the narrator just didn't manage to engage me sufficiently. I think it is very idiosyncratic...Bill Nighy could read the telephone directory and I'd find it fascinating!

disappointed

engaging plot, interesting (if slightly improbably competent) characters and satisfying ending. not 100%sure about the narration (peculiar accents) but managed to suspend disbelief. 15 hours well spent.

satisfying story

Another great Jordan & Hill thriller. Much to my hysbands annoyance, I found it difficult to out it down.

Pacey and captivating

thoroughly enjoyed it, great characters, different from any others. It left me wanting to listen the next one which is exactly what I am going to do!

I have to listen to the rest of the series now!

the story was interesting but the performance was very wooden and I had to google saul to see who he was. it said actor and I was shocked as the talking parts didnt flow at all and he talked like he was reading the speeches... so it was very stale. found that hard to get over so didnt enjoy the book as much as could have.

reading was painful

Unlike other reviewers I really enjoyed the narration. one of my favourite Carol Jordan/Tony Hill books.

Great

Not the first of the authors books I’ve read and this is more of the same, well written with the usual twists and turns you’d expect from the genre. The narrator always grates with me for the first few chapters, I’m not a fan (this doesn’t seem to be uncommon) of his style, having said that I will buy more of this series, DO try a sample before buying just to get an idea of the narrators style.

I thought this was a great book. The well established characters are once again in this book well written and involved in a good story.
This was the first I had heard as an audiobook. I thought to start with the narration didn't fit the story but after a very short time I realised it was a great naration.

Great story. This author never disappoints.

Loved the story but the narrator was so off putting it was a about of a slog. Stilted and machine like and poorly paced I know it's important to speak clearly but this is taking annunciation to another level.

Great story. Terrible narrator
