Meine Reisegesellschaft, Männer und Frauen, ganz leidliche und natürliche Menschen, liegen noch alle schlafend in der Kajüte. Ich bin nun in den fünfundvierzigsten Grad wirklich eingetreten und wiederhole mein altes Lied: dem Landesbewohner wollt' ich alles lassen, wenn ich nur wie Dido so viel Klima mit Riemen umspannen könnte, um unsere Wohnungen damit einzufassen. Es ist denn doch ein ander Sein. Die Fahrt bei herrlichem Wetter war sehr angenehm, die Aus- und Ansichten einfach, aber anmutig.
