About this listen
Wizards are being murdered. Picked off and torn to shreds. It’s up to a hexed detective to crack the case.
Detective Rita Hobbes has been cursed; erased from everyday reality and cast adrift in a world of magic and monsters. To the workaday world, Rita is a forgotten memory, which raises the question, what will she do with the rest of her life now?
It’s only when the savaged body of a dead wizard is wheeled into the local morgue that Rita gets the answer to her question. She’s going to do what she always does. She’s going to be a detective.
The Council of Wizards is terrified, innocent people are being transformed into monstrous beasts, and all clues point to a mysterious visitor with a bad habit of sinking her teeth into people.
A werewolf with a century-long grudge is stalking the streets of Blackpool, a werewolf with magic so powerful she can affect the phases of the night sky. Can Rita bring the werewolf to justice and put an end to her vengeance, or will every night from this day forward be a fatal moon?
Listen to Fatal Moon and enter a magical, pause-resisting urban fantasy you cannot put down. Like Neil Gaiman? Then you’ll love Fatal Moon.

This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.
Everyone should listen to the Uncanny Kingdom

Rita's journeys through the uncanny underworld of Blackpool, seeking an end to her Hex, continues but now there's someone killing the wizards of the city.
While Carlisle continues to seek a way to deal with the angel sleeping beneath the sea, Rita is drawn into the machinations of a powerful werewolf seeking the blood of Wizards and finds an unlikely ally in a newly turned accountant seeking an end to his own curse.
But as the Full Moons start to occur more rapidly, and Carlisle's cursed axe is having an unforeseen side effect when used on Werewolves, time is running out and the Uncanny world's Wizarding populace faces annihilation.
Once again I find myself drawn into the Uncanny Kingdom and I admit that this one has a lot more going for it that Hexed Detective and the introduction of so many new central characters really does work in its favour.
I'm pleased to say that, for the most part, Millie Jones' narration is fantastic throughout and the larger cast is easily recognisable and Rita's personality really shines through in this part, especially when she is conversing with Dan.
With the great new cast members, some fantastic set pieces and a thrilling ending, my return to Blackpool has been a thoroughly enjoyable one.
A thrilling new tale in Uncanny Blackpool.

I really, really like the writing the worldbuilding and the characters, they are likable and strong. I didn't feel the same creepy vibe as the first one though, the story is more "tamed" but amazing nonetheless.
Millie Jones is an amazing narrator! Her accent is quite strong and took me while to get used to it, but omg she is good in her job.
So good
